A couple days ago we started our review of the Samsung Rugby. This is a device that is part of Rogers “Rugged” lineup.
Curious to see what it could handle as the specs say it can take a beating with it’s U.S Military Standard MIL-STD-810F compliance… that means the Rugby can handle dust, shock, vibration, rain, humidity, solar radiation, altitude and extreme temperatures from – 21C degrees to +63C degrees is not a problem for this phone. We put it into our freezer for a couple days… then had it take a bath while we called to make sure it still worked.
If you are looking for a solid phone that can take anything it throws at it, this is something to consider. The Rugby has 1.3 megapixel camera (can take video), 8GB expandable memory with micro SD, 3G, e-mail, instant messaging, HTML browser. The only thing I was not impressed with is the external speaker for music, kinda sounded muffled a bit.
The Samsung Rugby is available through Rogers for $149.99 on a 3-year plan.
Here is the 2nd part of the review:
