Rogers & Fido relaunch iPhone 6GB $30 plan, plus other details


Coming off the whirlwind hype of the new Apple iPhone 3GS, we got word that Rogers and Fido will both carry these devices and launch them on June 19th, along with other countries such as he United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The overall style and design of the new iPhone 3GS is the same as the previous models, but some key upgrades when it comes to feature and performance: Improved performance, 3-megapixel autofocus camera, Video recording, Voice Control, Digital compass, Cut, Copy & Paste, MMS, Spotlight Search, Landscape keyboard and Voice Memos. It also weighs in at 135 grams (2 grams heavier than the previous models). Plus surfing the web will be faster at 7.2Mbps HSDPA plus it has a better battery life.

These will be available in both white and black on the pricing on a 3-year voice and data plan:
– Apple iPhone 3G – Price drop to C$99
– Apple iPhone 3GS 16 GB – C$199
– Apple iPhone 3GS 32 GB – C$299

In addition, customers who don’t want to sign a term, or who want to upgrade on an existing term can buy the new device outright on a special “no-term” price for the new devices at launch. We are still waiting to hear back on official prices.

Even better news, starting tomorrow (June 9th) and for a limited time, Rogers is also bringing back and reintroducing the 6 GB for $30 monthly data plan for iPhone users. Other Rogers and Fido data plans will remain the same, including the only national standalone data plan at $25 per month for 500 MB.
