TELUS doc has Windows Mobile Store named “SkyStore”

TELUS-application-docAt the 2009 Canadian Telecom Summit David Neale, SVP Products & Services Consumer Solutions, spoke about “The Successful Delivery of Value-Added Services” and how us consumers want to make things personal and access the information and services we want whenever we want.

In his speech he showed a couple documents that are pretty interesting. Without truly knowing the context in which he was speaking (so it’s me just assuming), he showed that there are currently several devices with several Operating Systems and a number of Browser Types. Highlighted is the Apple iPhone that owns all 3 and has combined this into their device.

This slide funnels down to the “Application Store Ecosystem”. Here it shows all the current manufacturers with their current Application stores. Not sure if this means that TELUS will be getting all these manufacturers on board when the new network launches, but it’s a clear indication that TELUS believes the future is in the Applications. What’s even better is the document shows the Microsoft Application Store called the “SkyStore”. Perhaps this will be the official name when Windows Mobile 7 is released.
