Text messaging has become such a habit that it’s easy to loose track on how many you have sent or received. It’s important that it’s included in your monthly plans or you might just wind up in being billed for an exonamant amount of money… or even worse hit a carrier up for a lawsuit.
The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) has released some staggering numbers about text messaging. It’s simply just continuing to increase.
The numbers show that “In the first nine months of 2009, Canadians sent more than 24.7 billion person-to-person text messages. In September alone, messages totalled almost 3 billion, or approximately 100 million per day. In addition to person-to-person text messages, the number of Short Code messages sent and received in the third quarter numbered more than 443 million, bringing the total number of Short Code messages sent and received to more than 1.1 billion in the first nine months of this year.”
Impressive. Imagine next year with more Canadians using Smartphones we’ll probably see increased stats for e-mail and internet use.
