Mobilicity launched with 6 plans with various features and various pricing that ranges from $15 – $65 per month. There’s no word on how many people have signed up or which plan people are subscribing to. Since their official Toronto launch they have adjusted some Unlimited plans and today announced that they’ve added Voicemail to the $35 plan. This basically saves customers $8 a month. We wonder since it’s still a relatively new if they’re considering giving a credit to those who did sign up for the $35/month plan over the past couple months. Would be a nice thing to do to keep customers happy (especially with Chatr launching soon).
Update: A press release just went out that states it’s actually the new features were set up just in time for the heavy “Back-to-School” season and that it’s “giving students and parents even more reason to take advantage of the innovative new carrier’s unlimited 3.5G network.”
In addition to the free voicemail, Mobilicity has also included in the $35 plan Call Forwarding, Three-Way Calling and Call Waiting. In addition they added two new Unlimited International Long Distance add-ons: Unlimited Europe & Unlimited Central America/Latin America
The Unlimited Europe add-on provides unlimited calling to landline phones in select countries, like Greece, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom, as well as cities, such as Berlin (Germany), Dublin (Ireland) and Paris, (France).
The Unlimited Central America/Latin America add-on provides unlimited calling to landline phones in Argentina, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey in Mexico.
President of Mobilicity Dave Dobbin said “Canadians are looking to get more for their money and our $35 plan sets a new standard in value. It’s the best unlimited wireless deal in town and offers the benefit of being on a fantastic 3.5G network customers can count on. Pay one flat fee plus tax and that’s it. Parents don’t have to worry about their kids racking up texts or minutes. And students can budget their funds better knowing they won’t get dinged for more money at the end of the month. With Mobilicity, you’re ensured bill certainty.”
As with Mobilicity’s existing Unlimited Asia Long Distance add-on, each of the new offers can be added onto any Mobilicity plans $35/month and higher through August 31, 2010. The Unlimited Asia add-on provides unlimited, convenient direct-dial calling to India, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Mobilicity also offers very competitive pay-per-use long-distance rates.
