Chatr officially launches “the Social” LG Phoenix and its data offering

It’s been long rumoured that Rogers’ newly introduced discount brand Chatr Wireless will launch data and today is the day. A $45 monthly plan has been added to the $25 and $35 plans. This now includes Unlimited talk and text plus the expected 100MB data. The data does not rollover to the next month but if you happen to go over the 100MB allotment you’ll be charged 10¢/MB for any overage. In addition, roaming in the US will cost you $6/MB, and roaming internationally is priced at $30/MB.

As for the device itself. Solid entry-level Android and is actually priced cheaper that Rogers has it. TELUS/Koodo have a similar LG device for around $150 though. The Phoenix is available for $190 and is also called “the social”. This has a 3.2-inch touchscreen (resolution of 320 x 480), Wi-Fi and a 3.2 megapixel camera.
