Flipboard officially available for Android, adds Google+ and YouTube integration

Flipboard for Android has been a long time coming. We first heard about it at the Galaxy S III debut in May, and then a leaked .APK brought the download to anyone with a compatible phone. Then the company released an official beta, working out the kinks along the way, and now it’s here for real in the Google Play Store.

The official version adds YouTube and Google+ integration, though you don’t have to add them if you’re not into it. The rest of the feature set is pretty much identical to previous versions, and to the iOS version which also got an upgrade last night.

The app is also pre-loaded on all Galaxy S III devices in North America and you should receive an update notification in Google Play if it ships with an older version.

Head on over to Google Play for the download and let us know what you think!
