TELUS offering a $50 credit to customers who aren’t able to find a Galaxy S III

Samsung’s Galaxy S III launched today in Canada on basically every carrier. There has been “unprecedented global demand” for this device and it looks like those who didn’t pre-order or reserve might have to wait a bit longer. Retailers and carriers are experiencing shortages, or have already informed customers they are sold out. Yesterday WIND noted that the GS III would only be available to new customers as there was “limited quantities available.” Today, regional carrier SaskTel noted delays as shipments “are not expected to arrive in SK until tomorrow.”

In addition, TELUS has confirmed in an email to us, plus we’ve received an internal doc, that states low inventory. Because TELUS is the friendly carrier they’ll show good faith and make it up to customers by offering a $50 credit. When stock comes back this will drop the price of the 16GB to $109.99 on a 3-year and the 32GB version to $159.99 on a 3-year.

“Because of the high demand for this hot device, some colours and/or memory sizes may not be available at all TELUS stores. So, for a limited time TELUS will offer clients who aren’t able to find their desired Samsung Galaxy S III in-stock a $50 credit towards the price of the device on a three-year term with a minimum $50 plan/add-on when more come in.”

So it certainly seems like Samsung Canada is adding to the global success of this Android.
