Samsung rumoured to announce the Galaxy Note 2 in August, launch in October

Samsung has done well with their phone/tablet – some call a “phablet” – Galaxy Note. By now well over 5 million units have been sold around the world and Rogers, Bell and TELUS all carry the device. Rumours are that Samsung is coming out with its next-generation, possibly called the “Note 2.” According to a report in the Korean-based MK News, sources “familiar with the matter” say that Samsung will potentially make an official announcement in August at this year’s IFA in Berlin, then have it available to the masses in October. The specs will get a bump up, rumoured to come with a 5.5-inch display, have a 12 or 13MP camera (up from 8MP) and packed with a quad-core processor, running Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean.
