Opus Hotel in Vancouver ditches wired in-room phones for iPhones

Vancouver-based hotels are beefing up the technology they are offering their guests. A couple weeks back it was the Fairmont Pacific Rim equipping 377 rooms with iPads. Now it’s the Opus hotel in Vancouver offering up tech. Apparently the hotel has removed in-room landline phones and outfitted their rooms with iPhones. Guests can use the iPhone inside or outside the hotel to make calls and surf the web while visiting the area – thus reducing their data and roaming charges. If hotel guests decide to make long distance calls the charges will be billed to their room. In addition, the iPhones all come with one-button access to hotel departments such as the front desk, housekeeping or concierge service.

Sign of the times… Pretty cool amenity for those visiting Vancouver.
