TELUS’ LTE network goes live in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton

LTE (Long Term Evolution) seems to be covering Canadian soil incredibly fast these days. TELUS has continued their expansion and announced that they’ve invested $1.7 million to bring the fast speeds (average is between 12-25 Mbps) to Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton and the Sea to Sky Highway in British Columbia. TELUS also noted that they plan to continue to build-out and give 90% of the province’s population access to LTE by the end of this year.

In addition, TELUS also launched the Huawei B593 4G LTE Smart Hub, a device that’s not really mobile as you’ll need to plug it into a wall, but allows you to set-up a LTE wireless hotspot for up to 32 devices. The cost is $260 outright, or $99 on a 2-year contract.
