Microsoft went live with their Surface pre-orders a couple days ago – prices range from $519 (CDN) for the 32GB without cover to $719 (CDN) for the 64GB version with cover.
The tablet was available to those located in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and the United States. In the States the 32GB version “without cover” was sold out within a few short hours, but now, a couple days have passed and us Canadians have joined the group. Microsoft states on their website that “32 GB without Black Touch Cover – Temporarily sold out.” This is a good sign that people are purchasing the tablet, but unfortunately there’s no sign of projected sales.
Microsoft is rumoured to sell between 3 and 5 million Surface tablets this quarter alone. The official release date is set for October 26th and apart from online orders us Canadians will be able to score one at one of the holiday ‘pop-up- stores.
