S0ny has detailed the upcoming rollout of its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia T, and it looks to coincide with Rogers’ mid-February release schedule.
According to a blog post released on the company’s mobile blog, the rollout will start this month for Xperia T owners, many of whom have been waiting impatiently since the beginning of the year for such news. The update to Android 4.1.2 will include new versions of Sony’s media apps, Walkman, Album and Movies, as well as standard Jelly Bean items such as expandable notifications and Google Now.
Sony is claiming numerous performance improvements, too, with Google’s Project Butter being integrated into the underlying code.
Lastly, Sony is improving its camera functionality, with a “more intuitive” viewfinder and a new Auto Scene setting for better determination of the surrounding lighting conditions.
Expect this update to go live on Rogers, Bell and Mobilicity in the coming weeks.
