Apple has once again updated its pie chart that shows iOS adoption. These stats are mainly for the developer community and are based on the number of users visiting the App Store. Dated May 4th, Apple says that “88% of devices are using iOS 7,” which is up a percentage from the past four weeks, and up 9% since January. iOS 6 users visiting the App Store make up 6% of users, followed by 2% using earlier versions.
Comparing to its main competitor, Google’s latest OS update pegs Android OS 4.4.2 KitKat adoption rate at 8.5%. In addition, from a Canadian perspective, the latest report from comScore showed Android owning 44% of the Canadian smartphone market and iOS 37%.
