Update: Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy F looks to be the game-changer the S5 wasn’t

Leaked photos of a device dubbed the Galaxy F could be the game-changing Android device that the Galaxy S5 wasn’t. A device that appears to have thinner bezels, a bigger screen, a faster processor and a metal body was snapped next to the existing Galaxy S5, showing the aging design of Samsung’s latest flagship.

The Galaxy F looks to be the Korean or Japanese variant of what is believed to be the S5 Prime, a device that will launch later this summer with a 5.3-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 16MP ISOCELL camera with optical image stabilization and 32GB of internal storage, while maintaining the water ingress protection, AMOLED screen, fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor of its kin.

PhoneArena received some purported live photos of the device, showing its higher display-to-screen ratio and practically invisible bezels. @evleaks formerly confirmed the existence of the device, and we believe that a September launch frame aligns with Samsung’s plans to flesh out its fall hardware offerings to better compete with Apple. Samsung is rumoured to launch the Galaxy Note 4 alongside a virtual reality headset at IFA in September, so it would make sense to announce the Galaxy F/S5 Prime at the same time.

Update: A new press image of the Galaxy F has surfaced online. According to reputable device leaker @evLeaks, the Galaxy F will arrive in the colour option of “perfect golden.” The picture is below. – IH

Update #2: Yet another image has arrived online via @evleaks showing off what is said to be a premium Galaxy F smartphone from Samsung. It seems, as expected, there will be several options available to users, such as the ‘perfect golden’ below, and now in ‘crystal clear.’
