TELUS launches the Alcatel OneTouch Pop Icon on Prepaid

TELUS is on deck to release the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ and Pop 8 tablet this month, but first customers have the opportunity to scoop up the Alcatel OneTouch Pop Icon.

According to TELUS, this Android devuce is “perfect for feature phone users looking to switch to a smartphone.” The Pop Icon is available on TELUS Prepaid for $150 and runs KitKat, sports a 5-inch display, a 5MP camera, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, and a 2000 mAh battery. Solid specs for the price and is comparable to the Moto G specs at the same price point.

TELUS recently reported its Q2 results, showing total wireless subscriber base jumped to 7,876,000, but like other carriers its prepaid business continued to dip and lost 20,000 customers in the quarter (total prepaid customers represent 999,000).
