HTC Desire Eye specs leak online, suggests a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies

HTC is holding an event next week in New York, and rumour has it that the company will announce several new devices, including a rugged camera dubbed ReCamera.

Device leaker Upleaks has shed some additional insight on what HTC is possibly planning. Images and specs of the “Desire Eye” appeared online with the main attraction being a dual 13-megapixel camera on both the front and back — making it the “ultimate selfie phone.” Other notable specs include a 5.2-inch 1080p display, powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, running KitKat and “Sense 6 for EYE,” along with a 2400mAh removable battery.

The Desire EYE aims to have a “clean design with smooth, coloured edges.” No indication if HTC is heading down the customizable Moto Maker route, but the colours shows various shades of blue, red, and white.
