Toronto-based image-sharing app 500px has just released a fun new feature called Splash that lets users search for photos by sketching a picture.
Essentially a way for people to play Pictionary with their computer, the company’s software interprets a drawing, mostly by looking at what colours the user adds to it, to return similar looking photos from the 500px marketplace.
While the software is far from perfect, it managed to make sense of my poor attempt at drawing a cat, for instance.
