Rogers launches online shop for small businesses to buy cloud-based apps

On Wednesday, Rogers gave cloud-enabled businesses a leg up with the Rogers Business App Market.

The Rogers Business App Market is an online portal where small businesses across Canada can purchase and manage business applications such as email, payroll, accounting, and scheduling.

“Many of our customers today are stretched thin, having to spend hours of time managing business applications. We want to make it simple and easy to use business applications, so we’ve launched our Business App Market with the latest apps and dedicated support. Our goal is to provide access to a variety of apps that small businesses can easily use to run their businesses more efficiently,” said Craig Bentley, senior vice-president of small enterprise at Rogers, in a statement.

As part of this program, two application services are available to Rogers Business App Market customers; Google Apps for Work as well as Microsoft Office 365.

“Google’s collaboration capabilities are what businesses are asking for in order to work the way their employees want to work. Working with Rogers, we are able to provide these solutions to more Canadian clients easily. We’re excited to bring Google innovation and scale to more Canadian small businesses through this partnership,” said James Lambe, country manager of Google for Work Canada.

In addition to apps and organization for those apps, Rogers will also be offering small businesses tech support as well as the day to day software administration of their apps. With a single login and password, customers can gain access to all their cloud services.

“The way we work is changing rapidly and at Microsoft it is our belief that productivity is at the heart of business success,” said Charlotte Burke, head of small and midmarket solutions & partners at Microsoft Canada.

“We are excited to be working with Rogers to bring the best of Microsoft Cloud services with a high quality service and ease of access to help small and mid-size businesses in Canada achieve more in the digital age.”

While small businesses are currently doing more with less, the Rogers Business App Market has the potential to ease the burden. Several new productivity apps will be launching in the coming months.
