Samsung has announced that it will reveal the findings of its Note 7 investigation on January 23rd, 2017 at a press conference in Seoul, South Korea. The event is set for 10AM local time, which translates to 8PM EST/5PM PST on the 22nd, and a live stream will be accessible via the company’s main site and news site.
The investigation’s aim was to find a definitive answer for the Note 7’s battery overheating and combustion issues, which caused the company to recall and discontinue the handset in October 2016.
“Following several months of comprehensive investigations,” Samsung says the presentation will include detailed findings from internal tests and also “independent expert organizations.” Samsung will speak on the investigation and the measures it developed in response to the incidents.
A recent report from Reuters indicates the root cause identified is a fault in the battery, though consumers won’t have to wait long before official confirmation.
