CarPlay will receive a huge update in iOS 12 that lets Apple’s connected car platform support more third-party apps, such as Google Maps and Waze.
CarPlay has always had support for third-party audio apps like Spotify, but now it will be able to support more apps.
Apple showed a screen during its WWDC 2018 presentation that revealed that Google Maps and Waze — arguably the two largest map apps — will be supported by CarPlay in iOS 12.
